thank goodness for rain

It's in the 60s now, instead of the 90s, and it's all because of a torrential, sideways rain we had this afternoon. Even though it flooded my porch and knocked over my biggest tomato plant, it was glorious. It was so fascinating, in fact, that the pets and I just had to go outside and see it in person. Both were too scared to venture out, so I held Matilda and Quincy sat on my feet, and we watched the storm.
