I feel so tired these days. The last few weeks of school here are always hectic beyond belief, and this year more than ever. I have about a gazillion meetings to go to, and there is no end in sight. While I appreciate the busyness, because it makes the time go quickly and, let's be honest, makes me feel somewhat important, the unfortunate side effect is that my eyes will not stay open. On Saturday afternoon, I was driving the bus back from a race and literally had half open eyes for the second part of the trip. Shhh. Add to that the fact that I've had a headache for about five days, and you begin to understand the "oy".
I'm going to indulge myself with a list of all the stuff I have to do. Last week it was getting the April issue (yeah, I know it's May) of the student newspaper out, two races, two nights of duty, weekend duty, Kentucky Derby party, husband out of town all week (= frantic trips home to walk the dog and then run back to work), Grandparents' Day, and two two-hour sessions of parent conferences. The next two weeks involve two coaches meetings, proctor interviews, proctor decisions, final exam review, at least three more races and New Englands if we do well, duty, the graduation issue of the student newspaper (with special sections that only I am allowed to see and thus only I am allowed to work on), and grading, grading, grading. Alright, enough indulgence.
Why then, am I wasting my seemingly valuable time blogging instead of grading or, oh, I don't know, sleeping? So I don't go crazy, that's way. This is my outlet for complaining, because you folks have the good fortune to be able to just x out of this window if the complaining becomes too much to take, whereas my poor husband and friends have to actually make eye contact with me and murmur supportive things in return. So, feel free to ignore this post; I'll never know.
