thursday

We cancelled classes Monday through Thursday this week because we didn't have power. To say this was unheard of is an understatement. Last year, when we got two feet of snow in one night, we cancelled the first two classes the next day, and everyone was in school by 9:30. So four days without classes? It was weird.

To make up for it, we made today, Saturday, Thursday instead. Normally, we have classes until 12:30 on Saturdays, as opposed to the usual 3:10 on a regular weekday.

The kids had a little trouble with this concept at first. One of my friends told me the kids in her dorm seemed to think we had made it Thursday everywhere in the world, instead of just on campus, and they didn't understand how we had that kind of power.

High schoolers, as it turns out, can be infuriating and hilarious at the same time.
