It's been snowing off and on (but mostly on) ever since Christmas. A lot of people around here are consequently getting a little tired of all that frozen precipitation, and I understand. It can be a total pain, especially with driving and all the snow days.
But.
I've secretly been jumping for joy with every new storm announcement, because how could I not? Here's how not:
1. It's just plain, ridiculously, inarguably beautiful.
2. We've already established that I'm a gloomy weather kind of person, and there's nothing better for that than a snow storm. In fact, what I dislike about snow is that it always seems to be directly followed by blinding sun (J tried to explain this to me once as something to do with fronts and their patterns, but I called him a know-it-all and moved on).
3. Since I've lived where we live, it has never snowed enough for me. I grew up with lots of snow, but our current town always seems to get missed by all the storms. This year, though, we've gotten some of the highest amounts of snow in the area, so I feel like we're making up for lost time.
Today we move into our fourth (fifth? sixth?) big storm in a few weeks, and I'm eagerly counting the minutes until the flakes begin to fall.*
*This is all conditional upon the fact, of course, that J is able to make it safely home from school. This is, in my opinion, the only but major downside to all this snow: a husband who commutes an hour each way.

I agree about the beauty of snow. Everyone around me is complaining constantly about the cold, the shoveling, the slower traffic. But me...I just keep thinking about how beautiful it is and how lucky I feel to live somewhere where we actually GET snow in the winter months. Winter -- with all its crisp cold temps and clean, thin air and bright, beautiful fluffy sparkling snow -- is gorgeous!
